How learning about the trillions of microbes living in our gut changed the way I think about food — and four simple ways you can start supporting your gut health too. First: I thought eating fewer calories meant making healthier choices For years, I thought I was making healthy food choices because I was paying attention to calories. I'd often choose the lower-calorie option without giving much thought to its nutritional value. I was far more focused on how much I was eating

This week I've noticed something. Whether I'm talking to friends over coffee, coaching clients, or women I meet through everyday conversations, the same pattern keeps appearing. They know how to care for everyone else. But somewhere along the way... they've quietly disappeared from their own list. Work meetings go in the diary. School events go in the diary. Hospital appointments. Hair appointments. Coffee with friends. Children's activities. Everything has its place. Except

Starting your day with good intentions. Last week I was chatting with a friend, she's incredibly successful and a wonderful mum. A busy professional. Like so many women, she genuinely wants to look after herself. Then she said something that stopped me in my tracks. "I know exactly what I should be doing..." I nodded. Then she continued... "The problem is... I decide what I'm going to do... and within minutes I've almost forgotten. Life takes over. I'm rushing, I'm stressed,

This week I've been thinking about the gap between knowing and doing. Because if knowing what to do was enough, most of us would already be thriving. We know vegetables are good for us. We know movement matters. We know sleep is important. Yet so many women still find themselves stuck in the same cycle year after year, promising themselves that this Monday would be different. I know because that used to be me. For much of my adult life, I was on a constant diet rollercoaster

This week I've been thinking about my future self, and how the path we choose can guide the small daily decisions we make. For many years, life felt like one busy day after another. There was always something to do, someone who needed me, another responsibility demanding my attention. Days became weeks, weeks became months, and before I knew it, years had passed. I often felt exhausted, overwhelmed and worried that my dreams were slowly slipping away. Then I woke up to a powe

This week, I've been thinking about habits. Not the kind that involve early morning workouts or giving up chocolate. The little habits we hardly notice. The habit of putting everyone else's needs before our own. The habit of saying,"I'll start next week." The habit of feeling guilty for taking time for ourselves. The habit of believing we have to do everything perfectly, or not at all. t's easy to think that improving our health means adding more to our already busy lives. Bu

Finding Your Why: The Secret to Lasting Change Have you ever started a new health plan feeling motivated, only to find that a few weeks later life gets busy and your good intentions begin to slip? You're certainly not alone. Many of us focus on what we want to achieve. We want to lose weight, have more energy, sleep better or feel comfortable in our clothes again. But often, we don't stop to ask ourselves a much more important question. Why does this matter to me? Your "why"

If you're like me, you regularly enjoy a snack in between meals. But did you know what you snack on matters more than you think? I must admit that for many years, before i really understood the impact of my choices, I would break up my days with a walk to the vending machine, or coffee shop for a quick sugary snack to pick me up. Little did i know that this afternoon snacking habit was leading to low energy and a lack of concentration. Research shows that most adults snac

There’s a special kind of energy that comes with the return of lighter evenings. After months of short days and chilly weather, the softer air and extended daylight invite us to step outside and move more. This shift in season offers a natural boost to motivation, making it easier to reconnect with physical activity and enjoy the benefits of moving your body again. For me, the lighter mornings have been a real nudge to get moving again. I’ve been enjoying getting out for a mo

Greek yoghurt, raspberries and granola. What is Greek Yoghurt? Let’s talk about Greek yoghurt! This creamy, thick yoghurt gets its texture from being strained to remove most of the whey. While it’s called "Greek yoghurt," it doesn’t always come from Greece. The name became popular thanks to a Greek company, Fage, which introduced their strained yoghurt to the U.S. market. Over time, the term has come to mean any strained yoghurt, no matter where it’s made. Fun Fact: In Gree
